The Videomaxxing Playbook
You don't go viral once. You go viral 10 times. How to turn one winning video into 10+ new ones on Instagram and TikTok.
The mistake: one hit, then move on
Most creators get one video that pops, celebrate, and go back to posting random topics. The algorithm just told them what the audience wants, and they walked away from it.
Videomaxxing is the opposite. When a topic wins, you make 10 or more new videos on it. New hook, new format, new angle every time. Instagram and TikTok don't punish you for covering the same topic again. Each video is its own video, and each one gets its own run in the feed.
What happened when I did it
I made 16 posts on one topic: Jev, the AI that scores content ideas. Here is how they did on Instagram from Sep 1 to Oct 8, 2026, against everything else I posted.
Jev topic · 16 posts
169.5K
views
Every other topic · 24 posts
90K
views
16 posts on one topic got nearly 2x the views of 24 posts on everything else combined. The best one hit 59.6K. Same account, same month. The only difference was riding the topic that was already working.
Step 1
Find what's already winning
Only max a topic with real signal. Look at your last 30 days and pick the video that leads on any of these:
- Views 2x or more your account median
- Shares and saves a higher rate than your usual posts
- Comments especially keyword comments, the people asking for more
- Follows people followed you because of that video
Then read its comments. They tell you which part of the topic people want next. No signal means it's not a maxxing topic yet. Keep testing.

Step 2
Same topic, 10+ videos
Keep the topic fixed. Change at least two of these on every video, so no two feel like the same post:
| Change | Options |
|---|---|
| Hook | shocking number, contrarian, confession, before and after, cost of doing nothing, insider leak, story, question, ranking, "I tested X" |
| Format | talking head, face plus graphics, faceless explainer, screen demo, tier list, split screen, listicle, reaction, carousel |
| Sub-angle | one slice of the topic: one feature, one number, one mistake, one use case, one niche |
| Length | 7-15s punch, 20-35s standard, 45-60s deep dive |
| CTA | a different comment keyword on each video, so you see which version converts |
| Face | you, an AI avatar, a teammate, or no face at all |
What doesn't count: re-uploading the same file, or flipping, cropping and speeding up one video to fake a new one. Platforms catch duplicates. Every video should be one you would post on its own.
Step 5
Post 1-2 a day, then double down
Don't drop all 10 at once. Post 1 or 2 a day over 7 to 10 days so each one gets its own run in the feed.
After 48 to 72 hours, write down views, shares and comments for each. The best 2 or 3 become the seed for the next round of 10. That is how one winning topic turns into a month of content.
