Claude Chat vs Cowork vs Code vs Skills
Choose a place to work first, then add the method you need.

Skills are not a fourth workspace. They can guide work within one.
One request, different setups
For “improve my landing page”:
- Chat: discuss the message and draft alternatives.
- Cowork: combine your research into a revised brief or interactive prototype.
- Code: edit the actual website project and check the changes.
- Skill: supply the conversion checklist or writing method.
These are starting choices, not capability limits. Chat can use tools; Cowork can run recurring work; Code can write documents.
A harness is the system around the model: tools, context management, permissions, and execution environment. Choose based on access and control, rather than assuming one interface thinks better.
